Report in today's (Wednesday) Sunraysia Daily quoting CEO Paul Thompson:
'The plant [is] "all secure and safe", and six people were containing the remnants of the fire he expected to be out in the next 12 hours.
' "All the major assets are safe and secure and will be fully operational for the next harvest in February," Mr Thompson said.
'"The main area affected has been some of our warehousing, storage-related areas - a couple of walls and things like that."
'An assessment would take place in the coming weeks...'
This is an endemic problem with stacks of almond husks; the Olam processing plant at Carwarp, about a 60km crow-flight from Carina, has had at least 2 serious husk fires since it was opened a few years ago.
