My 23 year old son is visiting me in Adelaide at the moment. He came home feeling sick on Christmas Eve so went and got tested. Waited in the queue for 5 hours. Got positive result back this morning so I had to go get tested. Luckily only 2 hours but I’m expecting to be positive as well. I have no real symptoms other than a very mild sore throat. We both have to quarantine at home for 14 days so let’s hope the Poms can make a game of it at the MCG!
Testing capability is stretched to the limit here like everywhere so SA govt have approved Rapid antigen tests. The need for our Covid app has never been greater but I understand the RAP team are closing the office for a few weeks and won’t be back until the 10th of January. Is this correct?
I get that people need a break but if we’re so close to finalising this why not get it done then take a break. Hell if it’s successful take an early retirement. At least keep the algorithm team going. Timing is everything.
Obviously I don’t have the full picture here but it’s frustrating to me that there is no urgency about this from management. Do they really know how and are they willing to do what it takes to succeed? I bet Steve Jobs wouldn’t take a break this close to the finish line.
Am I missing something or out of line here?
