With regards to copper, there is three times more CU in an EV than there is in a conventional ICE vehicle - and the future of Cu is dead/unviable? More copper mines are being closed down in the world due to being unviable than are being opened up. Allens you would know that the cost of electrical cable has more than doubled in the last 2 - 3 years. Copper is the most efficient material to move power, unless you use gold or silver. Gold at nearly US2000/oz, Silver at nearly US$23/oz and copper at US$8000/tonne or US$80/kg or US$8/100gms. Work it out folks, copper will be here with EVs for ever as will Lithium. The charging will eventually be done using vanadium redox batteries. Drive in the Outback, pull up to a roadhouse next to a 60’ Ctainer full of vanadium fluid, fill the EV and away you go. The Vn fluid will last 20+ years before change is needed, why wouldn’t you? Oh, that is right - no money in it for BP, Caltex etc.
