I expect all the technical/engineering aspects are complete and they have been awaiting the testing results to finalise their coating performance/ costing models, i.e what would the market pay?
This will likely be the subject of discussions with SGL and Ferroglobe and in the NDAs with the two automakers and the battery manufacturer.
Another key step to phase 2 IMO, is for the battery manufacturer (with a push from the automakers), to commit to testing the coated material in larger battery formats. That would trigger approval for the assembly of the pilot plant.
From today's announcement:
Altech successfully combined silicon particles that had been treated with its innovative proprietary technology, with regular battery grade graphite
So not with coated graphite. That is very interesting and raises some questions Arsenic could ask at the AGM.
What were the graphite-only coating battery results?
Phase 2 of Altech’s planned research and development program will see the Company strive to improve on the 30% energy increase
Will this include a combination of coated Silicon and coated graphite?
There was no mention in the announcement of the percentage of Silicon used, however, I believe it was 20%.
Does the company intend to test with larger percentages of Silicon?

And lastly, I think there's is a good chance the initiation of the Green bond will occur before Christmas.
It would be nice if Iggy could confirm that is their objective.
So hopefully, the start of even bigger things to come.

ATC are only claiming a 30% increase in capacity over a standard graphite anode where they have reached 432mah/g

To achieve the results, IMO they have only added 5-7% Silicon to the anode if you go by ATC's own presentation slides.
20% silicon was forecast to achieve 1010 mAh/g

If there is a higher silcon loading that the 5-7%, it might be due to ATC using metallurgical grade Silicon.
