But by their nature all storage batteries are DC so this is really an improvement on other metal batteries and even redox batteries. The only other storage solution that I can think of that gives AC would be pumped hydro? Therefor all competing batteries have the same inverting/charging issues, However if you are charging of renewable they can be DC output, so its just the inverting and that is being supplied by other companies and this is getting exponentially better like computers.
