Fraunhofer is the German government owned R&D institute that developed the CERENERGY battery. Fraunhofer has had a lot of previous success, as it also invented the MP3 digital file format that we see in use in many electronic devices today. Having Fraunhofer as JV partner is beneficial, especially since the 100MWh battery plant is designed to be constructed in Germany.
