Hey MrL, just my 2c worth, as has been mentioned and discussed and highlighted from the use of other iron chelating drugs. The 75mg showed great promise early, but after a period you seen it turn downwards. If you can remember, im sure it was pivalde, provided a study which showed that high level iron chelators proved to worsen PD and other iron related diseases, therefore, it seems that, once the excess labile iron has been cleared out, thats when the 50mg kicks in to keep it within the therapeutic range. As this is an extremely aggressive disease it would be best to flush this iron out quickly than tone it down, I feel this will have to be studied in the next trial (MOO). I did find it interesting that although the 50mg outperformed the 75mg on most data points, 75mg showed a better response with the walking (by memory). Overall, it has still shown that it works, just needs abit more washing of the data to get it cleaned up. As for the timeline, we will know once we know Alterity have booked a date with the FDA. Hopefully the SP doesnt retract too much, but i feel it sadly will.
