yeh exactly. this always happens when an offer comes in as the offer can collapse and if it did there would be an almighty drop down. Therefore the price always stays a little bit below the offer proce. so you have choices:-
1. i am an owner, and i hold to pick up the extra $2 ish a share. also i hope for an offer from elsewhere appearing out of nowhere to drive the price up further.
2. i am a owner, and i sell now because i am risk averse and dont care about a couple of bucks a share and i dont believe a bidding war will materialise.
3. i do not own and i believe the deal will not collapse so i buy today and pick up a couple of $$$ per share. sort of an arbitrage play.
