...Altura Managing Director James Brown said he was delighted with the record shipment.
“Altura has established itself as a key supplier to the lithium sector, successfully producing, selling and shipping premium concentrate.
“The high quality of our concentrate, which is low in mica, low in iron, contains no sulphur and has an optimal moisture content, makes our product highly sought after by battery manufacturers and lithium converters in China.
“Market prices for spodumene concentrate have been subdued in recent months, however the long-term demand outlook remains robust.
A number of producers have recently announced curtailments of production capacity or reductions in output, which has withdrawn significant amounts of concentrate from the market. Any excess supply of lithium concentrate is therefore likely to be absorbed relatively quickly, enabling prices to strengthen in due course,” he said.

And the notice gives yet another reinforcement Altura's Sc6 is highly sought and (-what a pity for anyone wanting to secure extra supplies ) that Stage One off take is fully subscribed.

And I feel the market will continue to grab as much as it can because;
1. So many others have ceased or curtailed production
2. As James Brown noted, prices will improve -not only is there is no way current customers will give up their hold on Altura product, they will instead be looking to keenly stockpile against the time that prices DO go up?


Some other thoughts;
On the increased shipment size, I wonder if they have increased production shifts again, or if the improved production is solely due to the plant tweaking they have been doing .. .. also wasn't there a comment from management that the mining was reaching some better areas?

On the comment;
The latest cargo was loaded on the TBC Princess, which departed Port Hedland on November 20 bound for Zhenjiang, near Shanghai......
Is that a clue?
According to here, Ganfeng takes spodumene from Zhenjiang.
Does anyone know what other processors use this port?
