I have always wondered why Santos as operator selected and proceeded to drill Dukas with a rig that had a high probability to fail on pressure limitations?
Sub Salt targets are apparently synonymous with very high pressure and an 8000 psi rig would have been right at the bottom of the pressure expected which in fact was around 15000 psi from memory.
To that end one could rationally argue ( at the pub) that Santos as Operator are responsible for the failure to finish the well?
Additionally I have always thought it dodgy that the full report of as found results was never made available to the market.
