Apparently that 9.9% number is very important because the US EV subsidy rules limit any Chinese ownership of eligible companies to 10%. So if the Tanzanian graphite mine can be bought into production and the Anode plant can be built in the USA (using BTRs know how) then EV1 will be in the box seat. Trouble is BTR only contributed $3.6M for their 9.9% stake and EV1 needs $120M to bring the Tanzanian mine to production and a fair bit more for the downstream processing plant in the USA. $3.6M is only loose change for BTR maybe they could lend EV1 the funds for further development.
