1000L = 1000 feet i.e. 300 Metres, near enough. So nearly all the stacked veins are within 300 metres of the surface. No idea where you get 'deep' from. The Pogo mine has three portals.
I'm sure NST will soon Pogo humming sweetly, just like they have done with nearly all their other acquisitions. It is what they do. It already produces the most gold annually of any mine in Alaska.
