It was very hard to value MUS as they were mining Ruby's which is a tiny market and not a lot of comparison to draw from. Estimating the value you need to know the quality of the Ruby's, which turned out not that great at first auction.
Valuing gold miners is much simpler with wide spread statistics and JORC requirements.
You're definitely comparing apples with oranges
