Vactosertib has a mode of action against transforming growth factor (TGF) B. TGF and is one of the most potent immunosuppressive molecules that get Tcells and NK cells bogged down and ineffective. So Vactosertib is like a B cell, TCell and NK cell enhancer, if you like. As a monotherapy it allows the bodies immune system to work against a normally suppressed cancer. In combination, it allows other Tcell, BCell and CoreNK cells to work more effectively.

Vactosertib is a pill, is safe, and allows NK cells and Tcells to work It has been trialled in combination with several other drugs, including Keytruda (Pomalidomide) which is a Bcell drug.

So its a great fit for a NK cell drug.

By using this tablet and the NK cells, patients of AML are receiving effective treatment, without the potential cardio toxicity, and other adverse events that occur with chemo treatments

Treatments like this will hopefully bring an end for the need of chemotherapy. I think we all can see thats a very good thing indeed.

Because NK cells are being seen to be an effective treatment in both blood and solid tumour cancers, they are also being combined into future CHM CarT drugs. Hopefully creating a powerful targeted arsenal against most cancer groups.

So the addition of NK cells into the pipeline looks like a master stroke to me. Its a way of making CarT therapies even more effective than what theyvare now.

To have someone else pay to have the NK cells progress through a phase 2 trial, while CHM owns all the IP also seems pretty clever.
