I've spent the last half hour following up and researching. An amazing story and also, very interesting to note that Aviation Partners Inc had to take Airbus to court (proceeding between approx. 2011 and settled in 2018), as Aviation Partners felt Airbus had ripped of their innovation and by-passed their patent, by making their own "Sharklets". Both companies had worked together in developing the new innovation (mem. of understanding also between the two).
Nice to see that sources say Aviation Partners Inc. received a very handsome out court settlement payment from Airbus in 2018, concluding the matter.

I can definitely see, after reading, the linkage between SMN's tech and Winglets way back. Well and truly a recommended read and follow through if you have 30 minutes. And something to consider in future regarding time frames for our patent.
