Boeing do have a bit of a problem though and that is if they decide against CVM for some reason Airbus will most likely take it up. And that makes Airbus aircraft more attractive to operators with reduced maintenance costs and ability to keep to flight schedules without the need for extended days of aircraft in the hangar to find non existent cracks.
But given the relatively recent past for Boeing where a few of their aircraft fell out of the sky one can understand their desire to be careful and cautious.
