    As @compint points out there just has to be a case for more involvement with Airbus.

    At the conclusion of the current testing with Boeing (and assuming Boeing accepts CVM - incidentally they are in a quandary if the don't because Airbus certainly will) Boeing will issue, as I understand it, a Service Bulletin* for use of CVM on their aircraft at the APB. Likewise when the application is made to the FAA they will approve - again as I understand it - an AMOC (Alternate Method of Compliance) for the specific application of CVM on the APB for Boeing aircraft. (Every location and use requires specific approval.) So where does this leave Airbus and incidentally SMN with these specific approvals? Airbus I presume will need to go to some European equivalent of the FAA - but with what do they go to their regulatory body with to get approval? There has been no testing done by them of which I am aware. Will Airbus say that if Boeing accepts CVM then it is good enough for us? A question perhaps for Mr Love to respond to.

    There is however at least one good thing in all of this and that is the various country based equivalents of FAA ie in the Eu and Japan plus others apparently agree that if one body accepts something it is virtually a box tick for the other bodies. Thus an FAA tick for CVM opens up world regulatory acceptance.

    Out of all this the sooner SMN hooks up with Airbus directly the better.

    * Actually Boeing could issue more than a specific APB SB and say they will implement CVM at all deemed locations across their fleet given they have tested CVM in every manner between a hurricane and a butterfly with no adverse impacts found. i don't know what the FAA would make of this though.
