Would it not be nice if Boeing were to fix its eyes on one big benefit that CVM can bring to its fast growing problem of maintenance standards that looks like getting it into a great deal of shite. In this near disaster of losing a panel in flight it has been mentioned they have found loose securing bolts on other aircraft and they have not found the bolts that secured it. So also mentioned they may have removed them to take out panel for maintenance and simply did not restore them, highly unlikely but possible, human errors. SMN sensors are purely for crack detection so no solution what happened in this event but installation of these sensors as a AMOC means a 15min check at the gate removes the old NDT method of tearing down aircraft parts to get access to the same areas. There goes that human error factor and safer flight times. Surely Boeing must be looking at this and SMN should be pushing it.
