Technical analysis I believe has a good role to play (in conjunction with fundamental analysis) in the analysis of larger, more liquid and predictable stocks with established cashflows, trading patterns etc eg banks, large miners etc. TA's role with exploration co's is minimal since these exploration company shares are generally illiquid, trading volume is erratic and price movements are totally unpredictable (driven almost solely by drill results) etc.
