You see it all the time, company x releases their fair value valuation way below par, Company X then shows up being a substantial shareholder.

Yep. In a few years from now, when they do those list of occupation stories every year about who are the most trusted and who are the most distrusted, I reckon we will see Hedge Fund Managers and Brokers right up top of the most distrusted list.
