'Ferro-vanadium prices saw a major rise in Europe on Friday May 8 on the force majeure declaration at Vanchem, as well as the business rescue operations at Evraz Highveld.
Metal Bulletin’s European quotation rose from $19.90-21 per kg on Wednesday, to $21.25-22.90 on Friday, with expectations of further rises in the coming days. The spread was wide on Friday as some participants scrambled to keep up with the rapidly rising prices, but the news from South Africa is expected to provide further support,'
