So I assume that you agree that the capital cost is significantly greater to purchase two 787s as opposed to one A380?
What also needs to be considered is the maintenance cost. More aircraft in service means more hangars, tools, spare parts.
There is no way that replacing an A380 with two 787s is more economical, efficient and cost-effective when factoring in capital cost of asset purchase, slots, maintenance, ETOPS, passenger carrying capacity, fuel, labor costs etc.
