Buyback at this share price is crazy. Notice they didn't do any buybacks when the stock was cheap at 95c. This is just a typical ploy to short term price bump so executives can get more money on share price performance bonuses then they exercise their options to bring the share count back up to where it was before the buyback. It should be illegal (it used to be in USA before 1982) and is a form of short term share price manipulation and theft of company profits directed to execs. Why can't they use the money to pay off debt or invest in the business capex? If they can't find any better use of the profits they shouldn't be running the business. When business gets tough they are going to ask for the money back from shareholders by doing capital raisings thereby cancelling out share buyback but execs keep their bonus money. Highly unethical. I would avoid this type of business at all cost.
