My experience dealing with childcare centres for my daughter was that the more you spend, the more they pretend. We ended up getting a nanny as the centres in my wealthy part of Melbourne we checked out were all staffed, in the end, by teenage and young women who had not had children, or were located badly, or had a child unfriendly environment. However on the open day, nearly all the staff presented were older women experienced even with their own children etc. It was a sham IMO - so we left in disgust. That was Bambinis.

We ended up hiring an far more expensive nanny after finding that our child was severely understimulated there, and that the staff were not experienced enough to keep the kids happy and engaged. I'm glad we did, as the nanny has been great, but our child has had less socialisation with other children. However I think that each childcare centre will be more influenced by the local centre manager and staff than by the HQ. Even the level of resources is more important for retaining good staff rather than all the bells and whistles possibly. Training is not as important as experience I sincerely believe in this area.
