I wouldnt jump to the conclusion that it was his idea and his decision. It should have been the Chairman pushing him or maybe Hudson might have said this has to happen.
If I was on the board I would be concluding that whilst AJ remains the bad publicity is going to continue, some obviously justified, some not and the brand sentiments has no chance to change tact. I do hope they will now hold back what bonus they can until the ACCC allegations are tested or they draw an internal conclusion on their merit.
A line in the sand is being drawn and hopefully the new CEO can move the company forward by mainting high profits combined with safe and reliable operations and a return to good service standards.....and my bag coming out more quickly to match its priotity sticker!
