This is what I had pointed out earlier. The incumbent team was an expansion oriented team who is not mentally equipped to handle the current contraction/optimisation reality.
George looks good on paper. But at the same time this is an admission that the expansion days are in the rearview mirror. You only bring someone like George in for a very specific task: putting the entire company on an intensive dieting and workout regime. Non performers will be revealed and cut.
Ultimately this is a good thing for DMP. The sooner they make the cuts the better. But it will be a very different looking company. Smaller, leaner, and hopefully with better gross profits to pay down debt. $10-15 company paying off debts with happy profitable franchisees would be a nice investment.
