-Sibanye are in discussions with a number of other coal miners with IPP aspirations. the future of IPP in SA is far from certain and settled.
- The "coking" coal available is in fact "soft" coking coal with very low swell and other coking properties. The yield of this coal is probably under 10% in practical terms, and the creaming off of this fraction dilutes the quality of the remaining thermal coal.
Not wishing to p... on anyone's barbie but this issue is felt by all potential coal miners in the Waterberg and Botswana.
