Oscar, I’ve been saying this for some time within my own circle - that home battery storage doesn’t get nearly enough attention and all the focus is on the EV in respect to lithium demand forecasts.
I strongly believe home battery storage will be just as big (probably bigger) than the EV market and take up will be much faster - all you need to do is take a look at the tens of thousands of homes with solar panels already installed on their roofs. I’m regularly seeing the tesla powerwall 2 being advertised in local media, the big Tesla system installed in south Australia is getting widespread media coverage and will be a catalyst for more and more large systems. I’d love to see some analysis of potential battery uptake if anyone’s got / found something and the impact on lithium demand.
