COP are a $60 billion American oil giant.
They don't give two hoots about FAR or Senegal for that matter.
They have been in, had a good look around and decided it was not worth their while.

They are the worst kind of corporate bullies.

Our best hope is to bring on legal action as soon as possible.
They can treat FAR and Senegal with utter contempt but they can't treat the court of law with contempt.
They could certainly tie us up for years in the courts but is it really worth it for them to do so?
Are WPL prepared to wait years for a resolution?
When push comes to shove you either go to court or you settle.
COP have moved on, they should want this resolved.
    FAR want it resolved.
    WPL definitely want it resolved.

We are the aggrieved party, it is up to us to take legal action.
Arbitration may work but legal action will work.
We either have a case or we don't.
    Same goes for them.
Its a small price to pay considering what its potentially worth.
