As mentioned in the AGM presentation, slide 12, a comparison of Storm's 4100N copper mineralisation to Sandfire's Motheo sedimentary Cu-Ag deposit was made and probably for a very good reason.
Dave talked through the slide at 7:25 minutes. https://www.gowebcasting.com/events/precious-metals-summit-conferences-llc/2023/11/15/american-west-metals-ltd/play/stream/37303
From Sandfire's website, some details on the Motheo T3 mine in Botswana is explained. The Motheo T3 Mine Botswana - Kalahari Copper Belt
Of interest, the multiple large scale copper mineralisation zones exist at Motheo copper mine, including A4 and T3 deposit.
The T3 deposit mineralisation measures 2 kilometres strike length and 700 metres down dip, plus remaining open at depth. This was highlighted as being of a similar scale to Storm's emerging resource scale.
.
The open pit ore reserve of T3 is a massive, 39.9 Mt at 0.9% Cu and 12.2 g/t Ag. The overall mineral resource is 53.3 Mt at 0.9% Cu and 12.7 g/t Ag. A multi-billion dollar asset!!!!!!
The smaller deposit of the two, A4 deposit is 9.8 Mt at 1.4% Cu and 21 g/t Ag.
Therefore, Storm's 4100 N zone is shaping up to be a very promising copper and silver resource comparable to the successful mining operations found in the Kalahari Copper Belt.
Storm 4100 N zone is shallow, flat lying and ideal for open pit mining thanks to its low ore to waste strip ratio. The simple upgrading characteristics of the Storm copper ore (potentially using 2x Ore Sorters treating up to 1.5 Mtpa of the high-grade ore & Dense Media Separation system treating the lower grade fines fraction) will help with keeping capital costs low (<$25 million) and accelerate approval timelines during the development phase.
Dave mentioned the exploration target is fast approaching 30 - 50+ million tonnes of mineral resources just from the known multiple Storm deposits (4100N, 3500N, 2750N, and 2200N). Considering AW1 has only drilled 5% of Storm's project strike extent, it is indicating a massive upside for the resource size is possible for AW1.
