It does happen all the time, particularly with IT companies. I fully expect Votiro to be sold off at some point probably way before it reaches its true potential.

i think as retail investors you just have to suck it up and be happy with the crumbs - annoying as that is. It often doesn’t get relisted, depending on who buys it. If it’s PE then yes, if it’s a major company e.g. Thales buying Tesserent, it just disappears into the parent company.

what is quite distressing, is when your entry point is too high and the take over price is quite low and you actually lose money. Hasn’t happened to me yet, but I have one or two companies that I currently own where it could. I need Senetas to go up a bit before I am in the green, but I suspect if Votiro delivers I will easily make money, although not what people buying now will make.
