I suspect it was all about risk at the time. I also wonder why they are so deeply entrenched with Commonwealth Bank as there is surely cheaper money elsewhere and as ex bankers they would be fully aware of this. When they talk of scale which comes down to being more discerning and cost cutting exercises on the farm and presumably some at CDC, I wonder why they are not looking at cost cutting measures and possibilities where loans are concerned.

I asked the question via email about Fonterra but only a few days before their latest ann so understand why I never received a personal answer. Your questions, howver, are justified and warrant an answer
