I'm a long term index investor with a terrible track record of stock picking so haven't bought individual stocks in a long time.
What I do though is try to find a methodology that could lead to excess returns and by doing these type of exercises I am able to have a log of data that I can look back on to say this method or perspective or subset had positive results and could be a viable equities strategy in the future.
