From what I can gather the international gold price was pegged...

    From what I can gather the international gold price was pegged at US $ 35 from 1944 to 1968.
    The pegging ceased after this because gold was being bought at $ 35 and sold around the world on local markets at much higher prices.
    Just a point of interest.
