Bet the gas boys are more worried about the carbon tax than the coal boys.

Coal lobby is huge & VERY vocal... It also has a much greater political pull,,, after all,,, if you theoretically turned off all the gas peak load power producers,,, there would be an adverse effect,,, but life would go on.

If you theoretically did the same to coal fired stations,,, we would be back in the stone age is a heart beat.

remember the same amount of thermal units required to produce steam for peak load power units,,,, produce very similar amounts of C02 per Kw/Hr

HC molar ratios are stoichiometrically all pretty similar.

We need govts that are very fwd thinking and have the cojones to make paradigm decisions.....after all,,,

the stone age did not finish because we ran out of stones..
