Mosy listed companies issues shares to their employees - junior or senior.

I work for the insto arm of one of the big 4. Every year, every employee (incl. branch staff) are gifted a min. allocation, though some employees get more than others - there is no exercise. Free-carry all the way.

A fin. controller normally succeeds the CFO. Options/shares are about incentives and reward - retaining the knowledge and skills in house as well as providing for progression pathways. If not to elevate to a more senior role, at least elevate rem. which recognises achievement but also provides a reason to stay and contribute.

The FC has contributed in a way which has helped to support the SP to $0.60.
