One of the big problems these guys have , besides needing more equipment, is artisanal miners opening up rich high grade veins on niuminco ground illegally.
The region has no extensive exploration and niuminco are only pilot mining their high grade veins...but they don't have the equipment or financial means to handle the required tonnage and agressively explore.
If one day, just one day, the market really ran with this potentially great PNG gold story and niuminco could pump up the exploration who knows what they will find there. There is really potential for a great discovery In the region. The big one.
The region was only explored for copper during the copper porphyry boom but gold price was low at the time so didnt bother exploring for gold and it's been that way ever since gold mining stopped due to ww2.
Edie creek has the pedigree and so does the region.
