The only available chemicals that provide UVA protection are avobenzone and oxybenzone. If they don't want to use those two, I believe the only alternatives to protect from UVA are zinc oxide or titanium oxide.
My guess is they see potential regulatory issues with those two, so they're reforumulating to use ZnO as the active ingredient protecting against UVA.
