An extension on this, given I'm still reading.

Only avobenzone protects against the full UVA spectrum. Others cover only some frequencies, hence the need for a combination of chemicals to protect against UVA.

Further, it should be noted any sunscreen claiming an SPF15 or above will need to provide 'broad spectrum' protection, i.e. include UVA coverage. Hence tomorrow's decision regarding avobenzone is very important. If Avobenzone is deemed not to be GRASE, there will need to be some physical element in every sunscreen rated SPF15 or above in the USA.


Adding to all of this, the FDA also determined that all sunscreens must have a list of active ingredients on the front of the tube/package. Imagine the reaction to 10 different chemicals on the front of the tube...
Even the marketing restrictions are working out in ANO's favour.
