Lake Resources soars 50pc ahead of Tesla battery day

Shares in lithium junior Lake Resources have surged another 50 per cent to 9¢ on Monday, leaving the stock 151 per cent higher over the last month.
At the end of August the company told investors that it had engaged Novonix to test lithium carbonate produced from a proprietary process using raw materials from Lake's pre-development project in South America's "Lithium Triangle".
Novonix founder is a former Tesla battery engineer and its proprietary battery products and processes have attracted customers such as Samsung.
It shares have surged 593 per cent since the start of May aided by online forum rumours that the company's technology or products could feature in Tesla's "battery day", which is due to take place on Wednesday morning (AEST).
The highly-publicised showcase from Tesla has been promoted as an event that will see ground-breaking developments in battery technology revealed.
The event is believed to have contributed to recent share price momentum for companies such as Lake Resources and others with an exposure to the electric-vehicle battery supply chain.
