Essentially, yes. I invested in both companies below current prices, so I'm sitting pretty either way. The short term gains were astronomical, but I'm in both for the long term. It took a lot of patience to hold on and ride it out, but as you say, short term hype comes and goes, but I'm confident both companies are yet to reach ATH share prices, so when the time comes, I'll be selling with a CGT discount as a long term holder!
