Thanks for the local knowledge. Tronox website is interesting - didn't know so much could come out of mining sand. Quote from brochure on their website below. Not sure what Hawsons sand is like or if that is the secondary product that is being mentioned.

We source our titanium dioxide mainly from ilmenite ore found in mineral
sands in South Africa and Australia. We also extract leucoxene and rutile,
as well as valuable zircon, which occurs alongside these ores."
