IMHO you were right and are now wrong. I complained to WP on several occasions when highly qualified people were hired, and payed well, to do jobs in a small company that did not yet require such expertise and could not afford them. When he hired CFO"s and "HR" staff I suggested to him at the time that he hire an accountant and a personnel oIticer at a fraction of the pay instead. He did respond and explain, but in my view "a man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still". It was my completely unqualified opinion that he was used to a support team in his previous "50,000 employees" role and was not comfortable being a one-man band. However, I once founded a small charter company in the "heavy" category and so I am well aware that much of the support paperwork is the same for two aircraft as it is for twenty, (and it is even worse these days). Moreover, it could well be that we are now reaching that critical mass that is more in his comfort zone, and despite previous criticism, he has otherwise done a remarkable job to get us where we are. Now we do need him.
