It's odd that Gcar, for all the batting he does for the company, continues to "assume" (incorrectly most of the time) on most matters, instead of calling or emailing the company directly. I'd say because he doesn't want confirmation that he's wrong, and would rather keep the arguments going over a monitor and keyboard.

To my understanding they could have sold at any stage -- it was reiterated that the shares were not placed in escrow, no more can be said apart from what was in the announcement, and that confidentiality was noted.

Although I find it extremely odd that the question of whether they could or couldn't sell their shares couldn't be answered directly (referred to as a contractual matter), to me it was obvious and cryptic enough to put 1 and 1 together (not sure why the secrecy behind it).

They also claim to be in touch with ATL regularly and, quote "they are supportive".

So if ATL haven't sold anything, it's because of other reasons than if they were 'not allowed to' - whether that's because they actually are supportive or simply have enough integrity to honour their agreement. This is how I understand it, and of course we'll see in due course what, if anything, comes out of it.

Key takeaway is it's a good thing for shareholders if they haven't sold.

Ironically you've arrived at the same conclusion as I did (that it's inherently positive that ATL haven't sold, even IF they could), which is the post that set jee whizz off again today. Unsurprisingly, he'd rather overlook that positive acknowledgement of the situation, in favour of arguing semantics, yet again.

Never gets old.....
