Those index funds selling out today in the low 60s will be happily buying in the mid 80s sometime in the (hopefully) not too distant future.
Let's say 3 years:
Sell @ 62c, Buy them back @ 85c => capital loss of 23c. Forego 3yrs of 5c annual payout => loss of 15c.
Ignoring tax and brokerage, that's 38c, or 17% compound p.a. foregone.
Is the ASX300 Accumulation index going to exceed 17% compound over the next 3 years? Does history point to this being a probability, or a mere possibility?
Think I'll buy more GDI stock....
