I am curious about the meaning of the phrase "anomalous lithium concentrations"in the heading of yesterday’s report by EPM on lithium. Later we read that analysis "returned elevated concentrations of up to 430 parts per million (ppm) lithiumoxide."
Lithium oxide concentrations are usually given as percentages. We can convert ppm to percentages at:
https://www.rapidtables.com/convert/number/PPM_to_Percent.html
Entering 430 ppm results in a percentage of 0.043% of lithium oxide.
In terms of value, is this a low or high value? To get some perspective we can look at:
https://www.mining-technology.com/features/top-ten-biggest-lithium-mines/
Fort hese ten largest lithium mines in the world, the lowest concentration of lithium oxide is 1.04%
If they wanted to be commercial, EPM would have to upgrade their elevated concentration of lithium. What has been reported is merely 1/24th of the lowest concentration value in the top ten lithium mines in the world.
