Nearly every project ever has negative coverage and lots of objections from many people in the area, NIMBYs, conservationists etc.
If planning departments allowed objections to have real weight in the decision making process, then nothing would ever get done.
As long as the project finds solutions to key issues, it will be fine. It will produce enough money that no problem is insurmountable (though maybe expensive to resolve)
