Lilac has always been honest about being the open source kind of anti-establishment startup that fights against the big producers and their proprietary knowledge. Would be nice though if they showed a little support for the small companies funding their development.
I understand what drives their world view, but offering the completed tech for a small license fee for any new entrant doesn't do any favours to the little guys giving them a start. In my opinion if their tech is commercially successful at scale, project economics will come down to brine concentration and purity in terms of throughput and reagent usage.
