Anson undertaking geotechnical study for proposed Green River processing plant

Anson is carrying out a geotechnical study as part of due diligence for the proposed acquisition of land for a future lithium processing plant at its Green River lithium project in Utah.

The study will consist of core drilling and shallow trenching as well as geophysical surveys to provide geotechnical data and subsurface conditions

to be used in engineering studies to provide construction recommendations and estimates for the proposed lithium plant.

Anson Resources (ASX:ASN) had just last week signed the letter of intent to acquire the 140.39 acre parcel of privately owned land, which importantly, includes water rights allowing for the extraction of water from either the Colorado or Green Rivers.

It added that due diligence is progressing well with no significant environmental impact issues identified during the Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessment.

The Green River project has an estimated exploration target of between 2 billion tonnes and 2.6 billion tonnes of brine grading 100 parts per million (ppm) to 150ppm lithium and 2,000ppm to 3,000ppm bromine.

Geotechnical engineering study

Independent engineers and geologists will drill nine boreholes and dig five test pits to collect core and soil samples, carry out field resistivity measurements, and geophysical surveys to determine dynamic properties of subsurface materials.

The resulting report will summarise the analyses, findings and recommendations surveys to determine dynamic properties of subsurface materials.

It will also include field logs of soil, rock and groundwater conditions, geotechnical parameters for shallow and deep foundation design, corrosivity evaluation of soils, earth work recommendations, and recommendations for foundation design.
