A little about me. I have worked in the field of radiation for more then 30 years and have held a radiation safety licence.
There are two types of radioactive materials from a transport perspective; those over 10Bq/gm which are classified as Class 7 Dangerous Goods (which need to be placarded and are subject to more stringent conditions), and those below 10Bq/gm, which are not Dangerous Goods, don’t need to be placarded but are still radioactive.
What ASNO have confirmed is LIN’s concentrate is not Class 7. That does not mean it’s not radioactive, only that it is not subject to the more stringent licensing conditions for transport.
What would give greater clarity here is if LIN just told us what was the radiation level.
